Some cool facts about London Ontario that you probably did not know:
London is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census. London is at the confluence of the Thames River, approximately 200 km (120 mi) from both Toronto and Detroit.
London was named for the British capital of London by John Graves Simcoe, who also named the local river the Thames, in 1793. Simcoe had intended London to be the capital of Upper Canada. Guy Carleton rejected that plan after the War of 1812, but accepted Simcoe’s second choice, the present site of Toronto, to become the capital city of what would become the Province of Ontario.
