(2008 is the last year for which Statistics Canada provided information about divorces)
She separated from her husband in August of 2002 and admits it was not the friendliest divorce. For years she was in and out of court fighting to protect the rights of her children. Bev says "I was angry, frustrated and resentful and it was difficult raising four minor children when I was alone and had no resources. I’m sure I screwed them up during the process. "
When Bev discovered the power of mediation she realized that there was an alternative to the traditional, hostile court process. She was determined to create a new system so other families could avoid the emotional and financial whirlwind that she had experienced.
Since starting her own business, Positive Solutions Divorce Services® in 2005, Bev has helped hundreds of separating couples wanting a positive solution to their separation experiences.
Bev Lewis was recently honoured by BMO. She was the Toronto recipient of the 2016 BMO Celebrating Women award for Expansion and Growth in Small Business.
